New Delhi: Sri Lanka has released 46 Indian fishermen and modalities to bring them back are being worked out, government said today.
"Forty six Indian fishermen have been released. We are working out the modalities of bringing them back, be rest assured that this does not take very long, we are working on how to bring them back," the Spokesperson in the Ministry of External Affairs told reporters.
"At this stage, 46 Indian fishermen have been released, I can confirm this to you. We are making all efforts and you can see how our efforts have yielded fruit and we will continue to make those efforts," he said.

The Ministry of External Affairs had said yesterday that India is pursuing the case of 64 Indian fishermen, arrested by Lankan authorities in the last few days, through all possible diplomatic means.
A number of Indian fishermen have been arrested by Sri Lankan authorities in the past few days for allegedly fishing in Sri Lankan waters.
