Washington: Online retail giant Amazon is reportedly working on offering a live TV service that would stream over the Internet.
According to the Verge, the project is in its "early stages," and that Amazon has contacted nearly three major media companies to begin working out licensing deals to stream programming. It is being said that this service, if it`s ever released, would compete directly with cable and satellite television providers.
The company`s plan to release a live TV service might coincide with its delayed set-top box offer to go hand-in-hand with its Instant Video service.
