Facebook once again activited its 'Safety Check' feature on Tuesday morning following the terror strikes in Brussel's airport and metro stations.

This feature allows users to mark themselves 'safe' following a crisis situation that caused loss of life.

Facebook first initiated this feature in 2015 following the massive earthquake in Nepal.

This time the site faced a lot of criticism after failing to enable this feature right away after the blast. The feature was updated around two hours after the first attack was reported.

At least 26 people were killed and around 130 injured in the terror attacks at Zaventem Airport and Maelbeek Metro station.
