Bhubaneswar: The Odisha police on Sunday confiscated at least Rs 1.4 crore and arrested eight persons in connection.

At least Rs 14,291,000 (one crore forty three lakh) were recovered from the accused out of which Rs 8,562,000 (approx. 80 lakh) are in form of new currency notes. 


The accused were carrying Rs 80 lakh in Rs 2,000 notes and the remaining amount in Rs 100 and Rs 500 denominations.


Two pistols, five live rounds have been recovered from their possession, media report said.
