"Amarinder Singh not of that moral level that he can lead Punjab. He is as guilty as any other party of not being a defender of Punjab's interest," Kaur was quoted as saying by CNN-News18.

Interestingly, the Punjab Congress chief had days back made a fresh offer to Navjot Singh Sidhu to join the party, saying the grand old party's doors are always open for him.

"If Sidhu is still unsure which way he should head politically after quitting the BJP, the doors of Congress are always open for him," Amarinder was quoted as saying.

"Sidhu has the Congress in his DNA. His father was a general secretary of the party and remains a member. I know him since he was a boy," he had added further.

Both Navjot Singh Sidhu and his wife Navjot Kaur had last month declared their disenchantment with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Since then, Sidhu has been in talks to join the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) ahead of the crucial assembly elections in Punjab.

However, those talks had reportedly faltered on a few demands that Sidhu made, though Delhi chief minister and AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal clarified that his party is waiting for the 52-year-old commentator to take a decision.
