According to reports, Police have filed FIR against VC and seven others in Ajmer over alleged harassment of the Dalit scholar.

Research scholar Umesh Kumar Jonwal has accused Professor Jagdish Ullahs Jadhav and associate professor Atique Ahmed of harassment and criminal conspiracy, according to a report published in 'Hindustan Times'.

Jonwal was expelled last year in October after he remained absent from the university continuously for 15 days.

Notably, Dean for students’ welfare BL Meena has said that rules were flouted while expelling the Dalit scholar.

Meena further noted that Jonwal had submitted an illness certificate, which was not accepted.

Jonwal has alleged that Professor Jadhav demanded Rs 10,000 from him for every semester and he paid the amount thrice. However, when he stopped paying the money he hararsed him and hurled abuses at Jonwal saying he wasn't fit for research work.

Jadhav dismissed the allegations against him saying that he had given a loan of Rs 30,000 to Jonwal, which was credited to his account by the Dalit scholar.
