German delegation seeks enhanced cooperation in technology
A delegation of German parliamentarians today met Union minister Harsh Vardhan to devise ways for an enhanced partnership between the two countries in the field of Science and Technology.
New Delhi: A delegation of German parliamentarians today met Union minister Harsh Vardhan to devise ways for an enhanced partnership between the two countries in the field of Science and Technology.
The delegation also expressed interest in collaborating with India in areas like solar energy and other clean and green technologies, Ministry of Science and Technology said in its release.
Simone Raatz, the Chairman of the German Parliamentary Committee on Education, Research and Technology Assessment, discussed issues related to their mutual cooperation.
Both sides agreed to strengthen their cooperation in the field of Science and Technology with continued funding for the projects already in progress, the ministry said.
Scientific cooperation between Indian and Germany extends in several areas.
The Department of Science and Technology (DST) of India and the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) of Germany had established Indo-German Science and Technology Centre (IGSTC) in Gurgaon to foster innovation.
The German delegation also expressed happiness over India's support towards the research project on nuclear fusion technology.
