Leopard scare in Kovai outskirts

Coimbatore: A leopard was seen on a road in Thudiaylur locality on the city outskirts today, triggerign panic among the residents of the area.

Three women, on a morning walk, saw the leopard crossing the road very fast, following which forest department officials were alerted, police said.

Forest department personnel inspected the place and found some pug marks, but were unable to confirm whether they were of leopard.

They advised the residents not to venture out of their houses in the wee hours or late night.
