Kathmandu: A mild 4.1-magnitude tremor today hit central Nepal, in an aftershock of the Gorkha earthquake that devastated the country in April last year.

The tremor was recorded at 4:08 am today with its epicentre at Gaurishankar Conservation Area of Dolakha district.


According to the National Seismological Centre, this was an aftershock of the Gorkha earthquake that shook Nepal on April 25 last year.


A total of 466 aftershocks with 4 or more magnitude have been recorded since last year's devastating earthquake.


Yesterday, two aftershocks were recorded in the western and central Nepal.
