Watch: School children in Pakistan being trained how to operate guns, defuse bombs

Peshawar: As part of a new government directive, hundreds of school children in Pakistan are being imparted weapons and bomb training in order to prepare them for a possible terrorist attack in future.

According to reports, the training is part of Pakistan government's response to deadly Taliban strike on an Army School in Peshawar last year.

Police and bomb disposal squads are frequenting various schools and colleges training children and teachers how to handle firearms, defuse explosives and provide emergency care.

The new government directives were implemented after the December 16 tragedy, which saw a group of terrorists storming the Public Army School in Peshawar, killing 145 people, including 132 school children.

Students are receiving anti-terrorism training in Karachi, Sindh where police is providing arms training at a local facility

Similarly, students in Multan, Punjab, also underwent emergency training which saw a bomb disposal squad instructing girl students how to locate and defuse an explosive device.

A mock drill was also conducted to demonstrate to the girls how they can give assistance to 'injured' people and how to safely evacuate the school.
