The test will start on Tuesday morning in Utah and the scheduled time is 10:05AM ET.

As the name signifies, the solid rocket booster, manufactured by Orbital is meant to give extra boost to SLS.

The two of the boosters will be strapped on the either side of the main body of the rocket during lift off and will remain attached to the vehicles for the first two minutes.

This is the second time NASA is conducting a ground test for SLS rocket booster. The first testing was done in March, 2015 when the booster heated to 90 degree Fahrenheit- the highest temperature the propellant can withstand.

This is the last time the booster will be fired in a test environment before the first test flight of SLS with NASA's Orion spacecraft, known as Exploration Mission-1 (EM-1), in late 2018.
