New Delhi: And it's touchdown!


NASA has announced successful landing on Earth of the Soyuz spacecraft carrying Scott Kelly, Mikhail Kornienko and Sergey Volkov in Kazakhstan at 11:26 pm EST.


Kelly is an American astronaut, who took off for space on March 27, 2015 to spend 340 days aboard the International Space Station as a part of NASA's first ever longest duration single mission.


The entire process from the departure, to the undocking was aired live by NASA.


The three crew members have been carried out of the spacecraft capsule after the landing.


The first one to be taken out was Sergey Volkov.



 


Second one to be helped out of the space vehicle was Scott Kelly, who was all smiles after he was carried out and was soon seen making calls from the satellite phone to his family members, giving them the good news!



 



 



 


Third crew member was Mikhail Kornienko.



 


Post their landing, the crew members will be subjected to a series of medical field tests to study how the human body responds to long-duration space expeditions.
