Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh BJP chief Keshav Prasad Maurya, who has courted controversies since his elevation to the post, has exuded confidence that his party will win an absolute majority in assembly elections due next year and establish 'Ram Rajya' in Uttar Pradesh.
Maurya said that BJP will win more than 265 seats in the 403-member House in the 2017 assembly elections in an interaction with reporters.
“BJP will form government after winning more than 265 seats in the 2017 assembly polls and establish Ram Rajya in the state,” he told reporters in Kanpur on Tuesday.
“Only one family is ruling Uttar Pradesh for years. People are fed up with it. Our main planks this time will be ending SP’s nepotism and BSP’s corruption,” he said.
Maurya has been in news after controversial posters depicting him as Lord Krishna and Arjun were spotted in Allahabad.
Maurya later warned of strict action against those who depict him as God in posters or hoardings.
In a statement, Maurya appealed the workers that he should not be depicted or compared to God in hoardings, banners and posters.
