Police have filed an FIR against Tarun Dev Yadav and further action will be taken after proper investigations, Baghpat SP Shankar Rai said.

The youth leader supposedly announced an award for physically harming the prime minister and the BJP president, PTI reported.

Yadav was said to be unhappy over the 2002 Gujarat riots and demonetisation.

The party has meanwhile distanced itself from the controversy, saying SP does not approve of Yadav's statement and it needs to be opposed.
