However, Akhilesh's offer has been reportedly turned down by Dayashankar, according to a TOI report.

Dayashankar had caused a big embarrassment to BJP after he passed some derogatory remarks against Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati during a rally. He had compared Mayawati to a prostitute and had asserted that the BSP chief offers party ticket in lieu of money and is worst than sex workers who are more loyal to their customers.

A complaint was registered against him and he was arrested in a joint operation by the Bihar and Uttar Pradesh Police.

Dayashankar's remark triggered uproar in Rajya Sabha with demands for his immediate arrest. The BJP was quick to act and sacked him despite his apology to the Mayawati.
