UP Legislative Council adjourned sine die
The Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council was on Wednesday adjourned sine die, a day after the Assembly was adjourned indefinitely.

Chairman Ganesh Shanker Pandey announced adjournment of the Upper house sine die after conducting business advisory.
Earlier, during the question hour, Bahujan Samaj Party member Surajbhan Karwaria raised the issue of absence of several officers during meeting of Koraon development block in Allahabad on November 3.
The BSP leader asked when action would be taken against the absent officers following which the Chairman directed the government to take action within a month and inform the house accordingly.
In another question raised by Samajwadi Party member Devendra Pratap Singh, the government said that though no action has been taken by the public service commission for adjustment of teachers in government medical colleges, but there was no need to place the issue before the cabinet.
Singh had sought government's response on vacant posts of teachers in medical colleges and whether the issue needs to be placed before the cabinet.
Responding for the government, Dairy Development Minister Ram Murti Verma said that as of now there was no need to take the issue before the cabinet.
Verma said the government's intentions were clear and it has attempted to fill the shortage by recruiting retired teachers on contractual basis.
Legislative Assembly was yesterday adjourned sine die, two days ahead of schedule, after a brief five-day winter session.
