Baghdad: At least 10 people, including six policemen, were shot dead in Iraq`s Salahudin province, a police source said Sunday.
At least six policemen were killed when gunmen stormed a police checkpoint outside a village near Tuz-Khurmato city in the province, the source told Xinhua.
On Saturday, police found the bodies of a leader of Sahwa paramilitary group, his two sons and a nephew, who were kidnapped three days ago from their home near Tikrit city, the source said. The Sahwa militia consists of armed groups, including anti-US Sunni insurgent groups, who turned their rifles against the Al Qaeda network after the latter indiscriminately killed members of both Shia and Sunni Muslim communities.
