The incident happened over two years ago on June 5, 2014 when Aaron Ybarra, then 27, entered the university campus building with a shotgun.

Ybarra shot and injured an unidentified student before Jon Meis, another student, ran into the lobby, pepper-sprayed the gunman, dragged him to the ground and took away the shotgun.

Before entering the campus building, Ybarra had already killed one male student outside it.

He has pleaded not guilty to murder and other charges and will go on trial in September.
