The landslide occurred at about 5.00 a.m. on Sunday, where about 100,000 cubic metres of mud and rocks flowed downhill, burying a temporary shed at a hydropower station construction site and damaging its offices, Xinhua news agency reported.

The identities of the bodies are still waiting to be confirmed.

The landslide was triggered by heavy downpours that lashed down 191.6 mm of rainwater since Saturday.

Rescue operations continued, the sources added.
