Islamabad: A day after a 6.6 magnitude quake jolted Pakistan, the toll in the temblor has risen to five in the country.

A quake that struck Pakistan, Afghanistan and India on Sunday left five people killed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Radio Pakistan reported.


The quake measured 6.6 on the Richter Scale with its epicentre determined in the Hindu Kush region in Afghanistan, the Pakistan meteorological department said on Sunday.


After the quake, Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif directed federal, civil, military and provincial rescue and relief agencies to mobilise all resources to ensure safety of the citizens.
