After Mogul, Subhash Kapoor fired from Jolly LLB franchise as well?
Subhash Kapoor has been accused of sexual harassment and molestation by an actress and the matter is currently in court.
New Delhi: Director Subhash Kapoor, who was shown the door by the makers of 'Mogul' after actress Geetika Tyagi accused him of sexual harassment and raping her in 2012. The filmmaker was all set to direct the prestigious biopic 'Mogul', on the life of music baron Gulshan Kumar. The film will reportedly be produced by Aamir Khan.
After losing the Gulshan Kumar biopic, which he had scripted, Subhash is all set to lose another ambitious project, 'Jolly LLB' franchise.
Deccan Chronicle quoted a source close to the development saying, "Fox Star who produce the Jolly LLB series have zero tolerance for sexual offences. And Akshay Kumar who plays the lead in the series has made it clear he won't work with anyone linked to sexual offences. Housefull 4's director Sajid Khan, also accused of sexual misconduct, had to be fired on Akshay's say-so. Subhash Kapoor too will have to go."
Subash has been accused of molestation by actress Geetiak Tyagi and a complaint has been filed against him of attempted rape in the Versova police station in Mumbai. Subash is famous for his Jolly LLB series.
Earlier, in the aftermath of the MeToo campaign, Aamir Khan, who was all set to produce 'Mogul' walked out of the project. The actor along with his producer wife Kiran Rao took the decision in the wake of the sexual harassment allegations levelled against the director Subhash Kapoor.
Though Aamir did not mentioned the team member's name, however, soon after he moved out of the project, film co-producer Bhushan Kumar announced that director Subhash Kapoor was sacked from the film. Ghai has been accused by an actress of raping her and the matter is currently in court.
