Ranbir Kapoor Gets ED Summon In Online Betting App Case
Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor has been summoned by probe agency Enforcement Directorate in online betting case.
New Delhi: Actor Ranbir Kapoor was on Wednesday (October 4) summoned by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with the Chhattisgarh Mahadev online betting app case. The actor was been asked to appear before the probe agency on October 6. According to the report, several other Bollywood celebrities are also under the radar of the agency in the case.
According to HT report, several other Bollywood celebrities including Sunny Leone, are also under the radar of the agency in the case. Last month, a report claimed that as many as 17 top-notch Bollywood celebs, including actors, singers, comedians, attended a lavish wedding of Sourabh Chandrakar, the co-promoter of the online betting app in UAE in February this year.
The report further claimed that Sourabh spent Rs 200 crore on his wedding, as per the ED and a major chunk of this amount went to Bollywood celebrities who attended and performed at his wedding. The ED is also looking into allegations that the platform coordinated with a Pakistan-based associate to launch a betting app there, the website added.
The report further stated that the Enforcement Directorate conducted massive searches in Kolkata, Bhopal, and Mumbai, and seized Rs 417 crore during the raids.
Mahadev Book App, an online betting app, is being probed by the ED and probe departments of several states.
