Hansal Mehta to approach Vidya Balan for biopic on Sridevi?
The filmmaker is determined to make a movie on Sridevi and said he might approach actress Vidya Balan for the project
New Delhi: Filmmaker Hansal Mehta, who regrets not not approaching Sridevi for a film he had in his mind, is now determing to make a movie on the late actress. Hansal is currently awaiting the release of his film 'Omreta' starring Rajkummar Rao.
Speaking to media, he said he might approach actress Vidya Balan for the project. "There will never be another Sridevi. I was about to approach her for a film. That film will now be dedicated to her. If it finds an actor. I will always regret that I didn't approach her and could not make a movie with her. But I will make a film on her," he told IANS.
Though he did not share the details about the project, he said, "It will be made. There are actors (who I have in my mind). I might approach Vidya Balan. I will make the film."
Sridevi passed away by accidentally drowning in a hotel in bathtub in Dubai on February 24.
In a career spanning five decades, Sridevi featured in 300 films in several languages. She made her comback in 2012 with Énglish Viglish' and was last seen in revenge thriller 'Mom'. She also filmed a cameo for Shah Rukh Khan's 'Zero' before her death. The film will be her final onscreen appearance.
