New Delhi: The Election Commission has announced that it would appoint Bollywood actor Rajkummar Rao as a National Icon. As per reports, over 161 million people are in five different states in India are gearing up to cast their votes in upcoming assembly elections.
It is to be noted that Rajkummar had essayed the role of a poll officer in a Naxal-affected district of Chhattisgarh in his film 'Newton'. The actor received accolades from all over for his work in the film.

Apart from this, the actor is also slated to play the lead role in the inspirational biopic of industrialist Srikant Bolla, titled 'Sri'. He also has 'Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video with Tripti Dimri in his pipeline.
