Race 3 actor shares his MeToo story, says `He tried to put hands in my pants while I was 21`
Huma Qureshi`s brother and actor Saqib Saleem revealed how was sexually approached by a man in the early stage of his career.
New Delhi: Actress Tanushree Dutta created a storm in the industry after she accused Nana Patekar of sexually harassing her in presence of over 100 people on the sets of film 'Horn Ok Pleassss'. And since then, a lot of many actresses have come forward and have shared their horrifying experience of harassment.
Huma Qureshi's brother and actor Saqib Saleem, who was recently seen in Salman Khan's 'Race 3', too decided to come out and revealed his MeToo story. The actor, while speaking to Hindustan Times, recalled the incident which took place when he was 21-year-old.
Though he didn't reveal the accused's identity, he narrated his ordeal to HT.
"I don’t want to take names, but when I started out as an actor- I was only 21 years old there was a man who tried to assault me. He tried to put his hand in my pants," Saqeeb said adding that the person had many gay friends in the industry and they are his wonderful friends.
He, however, added that as soon as he realised it, he whacked the person and told him to mind his business. "I was 21, and of course, it scared me, but I moved on. I’m sure that everyone's different, and an incident such as this must affect different people differently," he said.
On a concluding note, when he was asked about the stories which are coming out in the wake of #MeToo movement, he said, "These stories are heartbreaking and sexual offenders are horrible people."
Recently, Saif Ali Khan had opened up about his story and said he was also harassed and the incident took place almost 25 years back. The actor added that he is still angry about it.
With shocking dark revelations coming out almost every day, we believe the ongoing MeToo storm is not going to end anytime soon.
