Mumbai: Rishi Kapoor is visibly upset, angry and mighty peeved with the current generation actors of Bollywood. The veteran took to Twitter to slam ‘generation next’ actors for not attending Vinod Khanna’s funeral that was held at the Banganga cremation ground in Worli here, last night.

Kapoor, who had shared screen space with the late actor-politician, said that today’s generation must learn to respect.


He tweeted: “Shameful. Not ONE actor of this generation attended Vinod Khanna's funeral. And that too he has worked with them. Must learn to respect. Why this? Including mine and thereafter. When I die, I must be prepared.None will shoulder me. Very very angry with today's so called stars. Yes it has been expressed earlier on social media  my wife and Ranbir are out of the country. Would never had been reason not to be there. Angry. Met so many chamcha people last night at Priyanka Chopra's do last night. Few at Vinod's. So fuckn transparent. So angry with them. (sic).”






Among the prominent ones seen at the funeral rites were Amitabh Bachchan, his son Abhishek, Randhir Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor, Kabir Bedi, Danny Denzongpa, Arjun Rampal, Jackie Shroff, Jeetendra, Dia Mirza, Puneet Issar, writer-poet Gulzar, directors Ramesh Sippy, Ramesh Taurani, Subhash Ghai, NCP leader Praful Patel, and BJP MP Kirit Somaiya among many more.


A large number of fans and admirers of the late actor waited on both sides of the streets to catch a last glimpse of their favourite actor as the funeral procession wended its way from Malabar Hill to the crematorium.


Khanna, a former union minister, breathed his last Thursday morning at the Sir H.N. Reliance Foundation Hospital where he was under treatment since nearly a month. He was suffering from bladder cancer. He was 70.


He is survived by former sons – Rahul and Akshaye (from his first marriage to Gitanjali), Sakshi, wife Kavita and daughter Shraddha.
