Shahid, who was in Uttarakhand's Tehri for his upcoming film 'Batti Gul Meter Chalu', had taken a break from his shooting schedule and had left for Bangkok to attend the gala event. It was earlier reported that Shahid was scheduled to perform on the stage at the event. He, however, backed out of the event at last minute due to a severe back injury that he had sustained during the film shooting in Tehri.

The report stated that the actor decided not to perform on the stage this year and hence conveyed this to the award organisers.

In the meantime, much to the relief of the organisers, 'Race 3' actor Bobby Deol stepped in to perform on the stage in place of Shahid. Bobby, who is at Bangkok, has returned to the grand event after a span of seven long years. The 'Barsaat' actor is all set to deliver a spectacular performance on the stage this Sunday.
