New Delhi: Veteran Film and Television Actor Asha Sharma, Known for Her Iconic Roles as a Mother, Grandmother, or Aunt, Passes Away. The news of her demise was confirmed by the Cine and TV Artistes Association (CINTAA), which took to its official X handle to offer condolences. The veteran actress had reportedly been bedridden for a long time.

Actress Tina Ghai told ETimes, "Last year, since the release of her film Adipurush, she had four falls which proved fatal. She had been bedridden since last April."


Actress Asha Sharma became a household name with her memorable roles. She first gained recognition in the film industry with her portrayal of Mrs. Nivaran Sharma in the 1982 movie 'Do Dishayen'.


Her filmography includes notable films like 'Insaaf Kaun Karega', 'Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha', 'Humko Tumse Pyar Hai', 'Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam', and 'Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai'.


On television, she gained recognition with series like 'Nukkad','Buniyaad',  'KumKum Bhagya' and 'Mann Ki Awaz Pratigya' 


Asha Sharma's final appearance was in Prabhas-starrer 'Adipurush'. She played the role of Shabari in the film.
