New Delhi: If you have a saving account in a bank or post office, and if you are yet to share your Permanent Account Naumber( PAN) or submit Form 60 so far, you need to expedite and do the needful latest by February end for enabling government to analyse the deposit history of your account.
Finance Ministry has focused the scanner on the traces of black money. Banks and post offices will need to share the information about cash deposits aggregating to more than Rs 2.5 lakh during the period November 9, 2016 to December 30, 2016, latest by January 15, 2017.
A Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) notification of January 6, 2017 mandated banks and post offices to provide data about cash deposits for the following period:
During April 1, 2016 to November 9, 2016 for those accounts where there have been cash deposits during the demonetisation period.
November 9, 2016 to December 30, 2016, when deposits aggregate to: (i) Rs 12.5 lakh or more, in one or more current account of a person; or (ii) Rs 2.5 lakh or more, in one or more accounts (other than a current account) of a person.
