2022 Mahindra Scorpio-N first drive review, detailed image gallery: IN PICS

The 2022 Mahindra Scorpio-N manages to woo with a lot of new bits including design, chassis, interior, feature list, and pricing, everything is new. So, keep watching this space to have an eye on our opinion on this new homegrown SUV.

The 2022 Mahindra Scorpio-N is priced from Rs 11.99 lakh, ex-showroom. However, this in introductory starting price and will be valid for the first 25,000 consumers.

The dashboard layout of the Scorpio-N obeys a command very strongly, and it is to shout 'Premiumness' quite loudly. The use of metallic finish and soft-touch material help it stand apart from the competition.

A butch-looking front-end accentuates the Mahindra Scorpio-N's appeal. It comprises of vertical slats for the grille, C-shaped LED DRLs, and dual-barrel headlamps.

A rather upright boot lid is used on the new Mahindra Scorpio-N. The rear facet dons vertically-stacked tail lamps units, which Mahindra claims keep cohesiveness with the older models.

A total of 7 occupants can sit in the Scorpio-N. However, a 6-seat layout will also be available. The third row will be able to fold flat and increase the amount of boot space on offer.

The 'N' suffix is aimed to add a sting to the Scorpio. Hence, the new logo gets the letter 'N' finished in a shade of red.

Transmission choices include a 6-speed AT and 6-speed MT. These choices will be available with both petrol and diesel engine options.

The instrument console on the Scorpio-N is a modern unit with an informative MID, along with analogue dials for the speedometer and rev counter.

Under the bonnet, the Scorpio-N gets two powerful engine choices. The 2.0L Stallion turbo-petrol motor that belts out 200 PS, while the oil burner develops 175 PS.

Second-row seats on the Mahindra Scorpio-N come in two different layouts. The 7-seater version gets a bench seat, whereas the 6-seater avatar comes with two captain chairs for the second-row seats. However, neither of these offers slide functionality. The latter offers recline function.

From inside, the Mahindra Scorpio-N looks nothing like the old-gen models. An all-new dashboard is visible here, which is finished in Coffee Black leatherette material. The only familiarity with other Mahindra models is the XUV700-derived steering wheel.
