A stampede at a religious congregation in a village in Uttar Pradesh's Hathras district on Tuesday resulted in more than 87 deaths and numerous injuries. Indore (March 31, 2023)
At least 36 people were killed when a slab built on top of an ancient 'bawdi' or well collapsed during a 'havan' programme commemorating Ram Navami at a temple in Indore city.
Vaishno Devi (January 1, 2022)
A stampede at the famous Mata Vaishno Devi shrine in Jammu and Kashmir, triggered by a large crowd of devotees, killed at least 12 people and injured more than a dozen others.

On the first day of the 'Pushkaram' festival in Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh, a stampede killed 27 pilgrims and injured 20 more.

A stampede at Gandhi Maidan in Patna killed 32 people and injured 26 others, shortly after the Dussehra celebrations ended.

Satara (January 25, 2005)
More than 340 devotees were killed and hundreds injured during an annual pilgrimage to the Mandhardevi temple in Maharashtra's Satara district. The accident occurred when some people fell down the steps, which had been made slippery by devotees breaking coconuts.
