To become a primary teacher in a government school, a Diploma in Elementary Education (DElEd) is required. DElEd is a two-year course that can be pursued after graduation.

Many states conduct entrance exams for admission into the DElEd program. In Uttar Pradesh, the UP DElEd 2024 application process will start soon. Applications can be submitted between September 18 and October 9, 2024, via the official website (updeled.gov.in).
