According to News18.com, the three men in question somehow managed to flee after being confronted by the local people.

Importantly, Bamiyal is close to Indo-Pakistan border.

Bamiyal is the same area that through which a group of heavily-armed and Pakistan-trained terrorists slipped into the Indian side to carry out daring attack on the IAF base in Punjab's Pathankot in January this year.

There was a specific input about the presence of some suspicious men roaming in the area, the report quoted a local police official as saying.

However, sensing the seriousness of the matter, a massive search operation has been launched in the area.

The local police, with the help of security forces, has cordoned off the Pathankot-Dalhousie road to locate suspects.

The Army and Air Force officials have also been alerted.
