Delhi Metro Rail Corporation tweeted on Sunday that the services on the Magenta line between Jasola Vihar Shaheen Bagh to Botanical Garden are unavailable because of security reasons. The tweet from DMRC came around 2:50 pm. However, the metro organization did not specify the security issue. It is to be noted that the 37.46 km long Magenta line operates between Janakpuri Metro West station and Botanical Garden Metro station. Moreover, it connects with the Violet line at Kalkaji Mandir Metro station and with the Yellow line at Hauz Khas Metro station, making it a crucial part of the network.

In their tweet, the organization said, "Magenta Line Update Services are not available between Jasola Vihar Shaheen Bagh to Botanical Garden due to security reason. Normal services on all other lines." However, one hour later, the metro organisation tweeted that the normal services on the line have been resumed.

Meanwhile, Delhi Metro celebrated its 20 years of operations in the national capital on Saturday. In December 2002, the Delhi Metro began operations with an 8.2-kilometer corridor connecting six Red Line stations. It will have grown to a network of over 390 kilometres by 2022, capping a dramatic 20-year development. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation currently operates various routes in the national capital and surrounding cities. The first length of the DMRC, an 8.2-kilometer route with only six stations running from Shahdara to Tis Hazari, was officially opened on December 24, 2002, one day before the Delhi Metro began accepting pay passengers.

To commemorate the 20 years of operations, Delhi Metro operated a special train. A senior official of DMRC said, "It is an exciting milestone for the DMRC, and the special run of the six-coach train will take place today from Kashmere Gate station to Welcome station on the Red Line."
