New Delhi: A 17-year-old girl, who was on Monday rescued by policemen and divers as she was about to finish the Blue Whale challenge in Rajasthan's Jodhpur, on Wednesday reportedly attempted to claim her life for the second time.

As per Zee News, the girl, who was admitted to a hospital after she was rescued by divers, allegedly consumed several sleeping pills in order to commit suicide.

The doctors, who were treating her, shifted her to an ICU where she was given medical treatment. She was later shifted to the general ward.

The victim told the Zee News that she tried to kill herself fearing that if she doesn't finish the game challenge, the 'Blue Whale' will kill her mother.

On Monday night, the girl, who is the daughter of a BSF soldier, left her home and lied her parents that she was going to the market. When she didn't come back, her parents called her on phone, which was picked by a stranger rather than their daughter. This left them worried and they started searching their missing daughter.

In the meantime, the girl was spotted by a man named Om Prakash, who used to work in the same area, where the girl had parked her scooter and was crying.

"She was crying. I realised she was going to jump into the lake. I ran behind her and tried to stop her. I started talking to her and asked her what's the matter, she said my mother will die.Why will your mother die, I asked. She said her game was nearing the end and if she did not complete her task her mother would die," the man told reporters.

Talking about the incident,  Lekhraj Sihag, a police officer said,"We got information at around 11 pm last night that a girl was driving around Kalyana lake...we reached the spot. She was pulled out just in time."

The Blue Whale Challenge is reportedly a suicide game in which the player is given certain tasks to complete over a period of 50 days and the final task leads him or her to commit suicide.

The player is also asked to share photos after finishing each challenge.

The game has so far claimed lives of at least 250 people worldwide.
