The Hindustan Times said that DDA's 2016 housing scheme which was expected to roll out around Diwali will now be launched by January 26.

Quoting sources, HT said that the draw can be held in the first week of April while possessions might be given around July-September, once the civil work and services in the colonies are completed.

These DDA houses are old construction flats, from the chunk of flats which were surrendered or cancelled under the 2014 scheme. A majority of the flats are one bedroom (1 BHK), hall and kitchen or LIG flats.

The flagship Housing Scheme 2014 offered 25,040 flats across categories, with prices ranging between Rs 7 lakh and Rs 1.2 crore.

The online response had been so massive that the DDAs official website crashed soon after the launch.
