Mumbai: India's financial capital Mumbai has ranked 21st in the 'City Wealth Index' list prepared by Real estate agency Knight Frank tracking super-rich population in 125 cities across 89 countries.

The Knight Frank Wealth Report 2017 has placed Mumbai ahead of Toronto, Washington DC and Moscow while Delhi ranks at number 35.


 


The national capital is ahead of Bangkok, Seattle and Jakarta.


The number of ultrahigh net worth individuals (UHNWI) in India has increased by 290 percent during the last decade. India houses 2 percent of the world's millionaires (13.6 million) and 5 percent of world's billionaires (2,024).


Mumbai is home to 1340 UHNWIs followed by Delhi (680), Kolkata (280) and Hyderabad (260).


Meanwhile cities like Pune (18%), Hyderabad and Bangalore (both at 15%) saw rise in UHNWIs as compared to 2015.


In the 'future wealth' category, Mumbai ranks 11 ahead of Chicago, Sydney, Paris, Seoul and Dubai.


In terms of most expensive prime residential Mumbai ranks 15, three notches above from that of last year's performance. Mumbai is ahead of Istanbul, Melbourne and Dubai.
