Mumbai: Internationally acclaimed music maestro AR Rahman hopes to see SS Rajamouli directorial – Baahubali 2 – collections crossing the Rs 2000 crore mark. The second half of the two-part visual effects extravaganza starring Prabhas has minted over Rs 1500 crores so far and continues to impress moviegoers across the globe.

The double academy award winning musician took to Twitter Monday morning to express his admiration for Rajamouli and music composer Keeravani for delivering a charismatic film like Baahubali.


Rahman, who is also known as the Mozart of Madras wrote:


“To Rajamouli garu, Keeravani garu and the whole team of BB2... Just finished watching it in Chennai. I hope it crosses 2000 cr and above at the box office. You guys have opened the flood gates for South Indian cinema to the world and given it a new identity (sic).”
