Directed by Sunder C and produced by Sri Thenandal Studios, the first look of ‘Sanghamitra’ was unveiled at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival this year. Shruti Haasan was roped in to play the titular role but she walked out of the project for reasons best known to her.

The makers haven’t yet finalised the leading lady after Haasan’s exit.

Like SS Rajamouli’s two-part magnum opus Baahubali – Sanghamitra too will be produced in two parts. According to a report in Hindustan Times, the first part will have Arya and the second one will feature Jayam Ravi.

Rumoured to be made on a budget of Rs 150 crores, the film will have music composed by Academy Award winner AR Rahman.

And if Sathyaraj’s inclusion in the star cast turns out to be true, it would certainly add more weight!
