Patient watches Baahubali as doctors perform brain surgery at Guntur Hospital
Doctors in a Guntur multi-speciality hospital conducted a critical brain tumour surgery while making the patient watch the blockbuster magnum opus.
Mumbai: Well, we have heard of a man playing his guitar while the doctors operated upon his brain and now we have a successful surgery being carried out by making the patient watch SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali starring Prabhas. And now the surgery is being referred to as Baahubali Brain Surgery, reports suggest.
Doctors in a Guntur multi-speciality hospital conducted a critical brain tumour surgery while making the patient watch the blockbuster magnum opus.
According to a dnaindia.com report, forty- three-year-old Vinaya Kumari, working as a nurse, suffered from fits. She was subsequently diagnosed with brain tumour. She was operated upon at the Tulasi Multi-specialty Hospital in Guntur on September 21.
The surgery apparently required the patient to be awake and hence the doctors decided to make her watch the film.
“In this surgery it was important for the patient to stay conscious and the film managed to do exactly that. The patient did not panic through the process, in fact, she was enjoying and humming the songs,” neurosurgeon Dr Srinivas was quoted as saying.
The patient, a true Baahubali fan said, “The surgery lasted for about an hour and half, but I hoped it would go on a bit longer, so that I could see the entire film.”
Well, this is incredible!
