The actor in an interview with Mid-day.com, revealed how difficult it is going to be for him to play such a huge and iconic character on the big screens. He has been quoted as saying, “Marathi films have been driven by good content for a long time. They have thus won many accolades and awards. The team is working hard to make this film one that Shivaji's followers are proud of. There is a certain pride in playing the role of the great Maratha warrior. It is going to be challenging.”

Riteish ventured into Marathi cinema in 2013 as a producer in 'Balak Palak'. Later, he starred in Lai Bhaari, which did great business at the box office. It will be interesting to see the actor play the Maratha warrior on the 70mm screens.
