New Delhi: Much-awaited film 'Har Har Mahadev' is only a few days from its Diwali release. This film takes us closely through the in-depth relationship of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Baji Prabhu Deshpande. The legend Baji Prabhu Deshpande is associated with a paramount rearguard war, known as the ‘Battle of Pavankhind’ that facilitated Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s pullout from the Panhala fort. However, in helping his king escape, the great Baji Prabhu Deshpande made the supreme sacrifice and attained martyrdom. This sacrifice highlights how tight Baji Prabhu Deshpande was with his King and the makers of ‘Har Har Mahadev’ primarily focused on portraying their close liaison.

Talking about the same, the director Abhijeet Deshpande shared “This film is about the relationship between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and his warrior friend Baji Prabhu Deshpande. The whole point of this film is to show the human side of war and the human side of a warrior. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is always known to be a brave man and a great king but what was he as a human being? What were the choices that he had to make and how his humanity led him to glory is the point of the film.”

Further adding, he said, “Also for Baji Prabhu Deshpande, we always look at the warriors for the number of people that they kill. We never look at the human side of them, what they were as people and what led them to war.  So, this film is largely about how they were as human beings and the relation between the two of them.”

‘Har Har Mahadev’ narrates an inspirational story of a real battle which was led by Bajiprabhu in our history, where only 300 soldiers fought off the 12000 enemy army and won, albeit paying for the victory with their lives, on the other hand, it will be available to the mass audience across the nation being Marathi cinema's 1st multilingual film.

Produced by ZEE Studios and directed by Abhijeet Deshpande, the film stars Subodh Bhave, Sharad Kelkar, Amruta Khanvilkar, and Sayli Sanjeev in the leads. The film is all set to hit the theatres on 25th October 2022.
