New Delhi: Aaron Finch is set to lose captaincy of Australia's T20 team after a humiliating 3-0 defeat to India in the recently concluded series.
According to a report in the Age and the Daily Telegraph, Steve Smith will be named skipper when Australia's T20 squad for the ICC WorldT20 is named on Tuesday.
Finch did not lead the side in the 3rd T20I against India after he suffered a hamstring injury in the 2nd match in Melbourne.
The right-hander could be dropped from the side for the World Cup due to his injury and the need to accommodate in-form all-rounder Shane Watson.
With Steve Smith already in charge of the Test and ODI teams, he is now the undisputed leader of Australian cricket.
