Ajinkya Rahane: Team feels I can bat in any position, situation
Rahane become only the fifth Indian to score centuries in both innings of a match during the fourth Test.
New Delhi: Of late, Ajinkya Rahane has emerged as one of India's best Test batsman.
The right-hander has shown time and again that he is can deliver in the most difficult situations.
However, ever since MS Dhoni cast doubts about his ability to bat on slow pitches, the Mumbai batsman has not enjoyed a fixed slot in the batting order.
In an interview to the Times of India, the soft-spoken batsman stated he is motivated by the team's faith in his ability to bat at any position.
"I don't think too much about it. If the team asks me to bat in a particular position, I just concentrate on that. My job is to go out there and give my best. In fact, if the team is asking me to bat in different positions, I actually find it motivating because that means the team believes in my ability to do so. It means that I can bat in any position, in any situation," he told TOI.
Rahane become only the fifth Indian to score centuries in both innings of a match during the fourth Test against South Africa at the Feroz Shah Kotla.
