New Delhi: Board of Cricket for Control in India (BCCI) secretary Anurag Thakur is all set become Indian cricket board's new president as a replacement for Shashank Manohar, who recently stepped down from the post.

According to a report in The Times of India, Thakur is all set to get elected as the new BCCI president in Mumbai on May 22.


After the resignation of Manohar, who post his stepping down became International Cricket Council (ICC) chairman, Thakur was the frontrunner for the vacant post.


With the backing of representatives from East Zone, Thakur is all set to become the BCCI president.


If Thakur is named the new president, Ajay Shirke is in line to become the next board secretary.
