Itanagar: Surface communication to Dibang Valley district in Arunachal Pradesh remain disrupted for the past few days following landslides, officials said Monday.
Anini-Roing road remain cut off from rest of the state since April 6 due to major landslides at various points triggered by torrential rains for the last couple of weeks.
The bridge over Deopani river which was swept away in December last year is yet to be constructed to restore communication, sources informed. Heavy landslides occurred at many locations, including Endulin Nallah, Mayodia, 17-camp, 83-camp. The whole 120 km stretch of road between Mayudia and Endulin has been hit by landslides and it is feared that the situation may aggravate further if the downpour continues for few more days. Border Roads Organisation (BRO) has pressed its men and machineries into service. However, considering the massive landslides in many locations, the restoration of road link may take some more time, sources said.
Deputy Commissioner Abu Tayeng has been personally monitoring the situation and is in constant touch with the concerned authorities for immediate restoration of road communication, sources added.
