Marsh will replace injured Usman Khawaja while Pattinson has come in place of retired pacer Mitchell Johnson.

The chairman of selectors, Rod Marsh, said Pattinson has been included in the squad following his superb performance in the Sheffield Shield cricket.

Rod further backed Pattinson, who has not played a Test match since the 2014 Cape Town match, saying that he had worked extremely hard and would surely perform well in the Test matches.

He added that Shaun also deserves this opportunity as he had also scored consistently in domestic cricket.

The third Test will be the first day and night Test to be played between the two sides in Adelaide, starting from November 27.
