India vs Australia 2016, 5th ODI: Squads, date, time, venue, TV listing
As the two sides go head-to-head for the final time in the ODI series, here are some of the important details fans should know.
New Delhi: India's ODI side has had a terrible start to 2016. Down 0-4 in the five-match series, nothing appears to have gone right for MS Dhoni and his boys on this tour.
The last and final ODI on Saturday at the Sydney Cricket Ground is an opportunity for the visitors to pick up a consolation win in a contest where they have been thoroughly outplayed.
While fans witnessed one-way traffic in the first two ODIs, the Men in Blue put up some resistance in the next two.
In the final game, the Indians will be desperate to avoid a whitewash and further embarrassment.
Led by Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, India's top order has been in exception form. But MS Dhoni's inability to apply the finishing touch, poor fielding and ineffective bowling have meant five tons (two from Virat, two from Rohit and one from Shikhar Dhawan) have gone in vain.
Though team director Ravi Shastri has backed the bowlers to come good on the remainder of the tour, it appears unlikely that they could have a serious impact in the final ODI.
Australia's captain Steve Smith has made it clear that his side will leave no stone unturned to achieve a 5-0 scoreline in the series.
It now remains to be seen how Dhoni's side responds to the challenge on the weekend.
