Jhargram: The West Bengal government on Sunday handed over cheques of Rs one lakh as compensation each to 110 people who lost their relatives in Maoist attacks during the past few years in Jhargram sub-division of West Midnapur district. The cheques were given by Paschimanchal Unnyan Daptar Minister Sukumar Hansda in front of the office of the Jhargram Superintendent of Police, Gaurab Sharma. Similar compensations were earlier given by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee from Jhargram stadium. Besides, 214 clubs of the district were given sports jersey during the ceremony.
