According to a report on the India Today website, the defamation case was also filed against former India skipper Bishan Singh Bedi and Surender Khanna.

Azad, on Wednesday, was suspended by the BJP for anti-party activity, which included taking on senior party leader and Union Finance minister Arun Jaitley in the DDCA scam.

Senior BJP leaders LK Advani, MM Joshi and Yashwant Sinha are believed to have voiced their support for the suspended MP.
